Northern California Vice Chair & Political Director Hon. Emily Ann Ramos

Emily is the Vice Mayor of the City of Mountain View. In her day job as a Tenant Protection and Empowerment Associate, she assists in the implementation of SV@Home’s approach to tenant protections, affordable housing preservation, and comprehensive anti‐displacement policy solutions, all undertaken in an equity framework.

Prior to joining SV@Home, she worked at a political consulting firm, where she staffed campaigns for Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and Close the Gap California, an initiative to recruit progressive women to the State Legislature. From 2009 to 2017, she brought together technology startups and community groups at The Tech Museum of Innovation in Downtown San Jose. Outside of work, she served on the Santa Clara County Democratic Central Committee as a delegate in AD 23. Previously, she was the chair of the Mountain View Rental Housing Committee, the president of the Silicon Valley Young Democrats, and a lead for Mountain View YIMBY. With these organizations, she worked to increase civic engagement in the South Bay, especially for young people and those who are historically underrepresented.

Emily holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Maritime Academy. Born and raised in the Bay Area by Filipino immigrants, she is passionate about keeping Silicon Valley an innovative, inclusive and diverse community.
